As the Holiday Season is upon us and we look back on 2011, the Tanis team took a break to celebrate the year with some good food (and cheer!) and to give something back to our community.  San Jose has been a great location for our company and we found a couple of very worthwhile organizations to support.

We had a lot of fun putting together breakfast bags for the homeless in Santa Clara for EHC Lifebuilders.  From their website, EHC LifeBuilders is the leading provider of shelter, housing opportunities, and supportive services to people in crisis and those experiencing homelessness in Silicon Valley. They have thrived since 1980 because their leadership, employees, and the community passionately believe in their mission and vision of a society without homelessness. Each year, more than 20,000 people have an episode of homelessness in Santa Clara County. As you can see, you can take the team out of the office, but you can’t take the team out of the team.  We plowed through more than one hundred bags in short order with our efficient Tanis assembly line.

Family Supportive Housing runs a scattered-site transitional housing program that serves homeless families throughout Santa Clara County. In lieu of exchanging gifts between ourselves and with our clients, we donated in the spirit of the season to their very worthwhile Christmas Shoppe program. The Christmas Shoppe serves their Shelter families and is a room at the Shelter that is arranged like a store where the parents can “shop” for their children’s presents and children can “shop” for gifts for their parents.  Both charities are doing wonderful things for the community!

And to everyone, we would like to thank you for your support in 2011 and wish you a very happy holiday and a great New Year!
